The Interior Health Authority says the emergency department in Lillooet will face another run of closures, lasting most of the weekend.

Emergency services will be unavailable from 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, until 8 a.m. on Monday, April 7.

Patients are asked to visit the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, the nearest hospital, roughly 170 kilometres from Lillooet.

People needing life-threatening emergency care are advised to call 911 for transport.

In March, Lillooet Mayor Laurie Hopfl told 1130 NewsRadio residents face a life-threatening situation if they suffer a heart attack, stroke, or severe injury.
