The Lions Gate Bridge, which connects Vancouver with the North Shore, was closed for several hours after a crash early Sunday morning.

The Vancouver Police Department says it was called out to the scene around 5 a.m.

“The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but speed may have played a factor,” Const. Tania Visintin told 1130 NewsRadio.

Photos from the scene appear to show a grey Corvette that may have jumped the curb and was sitting on the sidewalk against a bush.

1130 NewsRadio has reached out to BC Emergency Health Services for more information.

Meanwhile, the bridge fully reopened around 10 a.m.
