Man accused of shooting neighbour during dispute in Mississauga
Peel Regional Police arrested and charged a man who allegedly shot and injured his neighbour during a verbal altercation in Mississauga last month.
Authorities were called to the Rathburn Road West and Perivale Road area at around 10 a.m. on Jan. 24 for reports of a shooting.
It’s alleged the accused and his neighbour were in a dispute, resulting in the neighbour being shot. The victim was transported to a trauma centre and is expected to make a full recovery, police noted.
Officers executed a search warrant on the suspect’s residence and seized several firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and other weapons.
Richard Loo, 62, of Mississauga, is facing numerous criminal offences, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm, possession of a firearm, uttering threats and assault, among other related charges.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
