Man dies after being struck by vehicle at Hwy. 401 off-ramp at Keele

A man has died after he was struck by a vehicle at the westbound Highway 401 off-ramp at Keele Street.

Emergency crews responded to the area just before 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Paramedics say the man was in his 30s. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the driver involved remained at the scene.

The eastbound and westbound collector lanes of the 401 are closed at Keele, as well as the eastbound and westbound off-ramps.

Northbound Keele is also closed from Falstaff to Wilson avenues, which means drivers cannot access the 401 from that area.
