Man facing multiple charges in human trafficking investigation

A 38-year-old Toronto man is facing several charges in connection to a human trafficking investigation.

Toronto police say the suspect met a woman on an online dating app in 2014. He then allegedly assaulted her and using a combination of deception, coercion, and threats, sex trafficked her in Ontario from July 2014 to August 2014.

On Feb. 20, 2024, members of the Human Trafficking Unit arrested Micah Barrows in the area of Morningside Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East. He’s facing a number of charges including sexual assault, trafficking in persons, exercising control of a person for prostitution, and living on the avails of prostitution.

Investigators believe there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
