Metro Vancouver traffic heavy as transit strike ends

Published

There’s extra volume on major Metro Vancouver routes Wednesday morning, as some people who were working from home during the bus strike are back on the road.

Others may not realize that transit, like buses and the SeaBus, are running again after the 48-hour Coast Mountain Bus Company supervisor strike ended at 3 a.m.

Highway 1 heading west is heavy from 176 Street in Surrey, across the Port Mann Bridge through to the Ironworkers and into North Vancouver.

The Alex Fraser Bridge and Highway 91 heading north is heavy from just south of 64th Avenue, while Highway 99 northbound is backing up from Highway 17 to the Massey Tunnel.
