Mission hospital reopens temporary ER after flooding

Mission Memorial Hospital has opened a temporary emergency room location within the hospital after a flood that took place Jan. 13.

Fraser Health says patients can access the temporary ER through the hospital’s main entrance. The temporary location will offer the same services as the regular department did before the flood.

Fraser Health says the flood resulted when the cold weather caused pipes to burst in the unit, resulting in damage. Patients had been told to go to the ERs at Ridge Meadows Hospital, Abbotsford Regional, Langley Memorial, or Chilliwack General.

The temporary ER will be open until all repairs to the regular location are complete.

The health authority said Saturday that the rest of the hospital was unaffected.
