Mission RCMP warns of ‘well-dressed’ women suspected of shoplifting
Mounties in Mission are warning local retailers to be on the lookout for a group of women suspected of being involved in a series of coordinated thefts.
Police say the women appeared “well-dressed,” and one was pushing a stroller with a small child at one of the stores they are suspected of shoplifting from.
“On the evening of Monday, June 30, three well-dressed women entered the Shoppers Drug Mart on Lougheed Highway in Mission and reportedly stole an entire shelf’s worth of cosmetic products,” the Mission RCMP said.
“A group of four women – three of whom were the same ones from the Shoppers Drug Mart theft – then entered London Drugs in Mission on July 1 around 2:15 p.m., and allegedly worked together to steal a large quantity of perfume.”
Two of the women then went back to the same Shoppers Drug Mart on July 5 and stole multiple high-end gift sets.
In a news release, the RCMP said the women are believed to have ties to Ontario and were not known to Mission police.
“The women were well-organized, and in at least one of the instances, one of the suspects distracted an employee working in the cosmetics section, while the others reportedly took various items,” police said.
Retailers are advised to familiarize themselves with the group of women in the photos provided by police. Anyone with any information about the suspect’s identities or their vehicle is asked to call the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 and quote file 2025-7724.
