Mississauga man charged in violent assault at Westwood Mall

A 39-year-old man is facing an assault charge after a man was allegedly attacked in Mississauga earlier this year.

Peel police say they were called to Westwood Mall just before 9 p.m. on January 3 for reports of a disturbance. When they arrived they found a man in his 40s suffering from “severe facial injuries” caused by an edged weapon.

Investigators arrested 39-year-old Anthony Welcome on February 7 and charged him with aggravated assault.
