The Agassiz RCMP says emergency crews are searching the Harrison Lagoon area Saturday after receiving reports of a possible drowning Friday.

Police say they were first called to the scene shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The Harrison Hot Springs Fire Department and search and rescue teams came to search the area, but they were unable to find the individual.

Crews returned Saturday to continue the search, and police say it remains an active police investigation.

No foul play is suspected.

“It is requested that people please avoid the area of the Harrison Lagoon, both on foot and in vehicles,” the Agassiz RCMP said.

“There are a lot of emergency vehicles and personnel on scene, and they will continue to need priority access into the area as this investigation continues.”

Police aren’t releasing any details about the missing person at this time.
