Toronto police are investigating after multiple victims reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown male in North York on Sunday.

Officers say the first assault happened at approximately 12:20 p.m. near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

According to police, the suspect allegedly entered a woman’s changeroom inside a fitness centre and sexually assaulted a woman before fleeing the area on foot.

Less than two hours later, police were called about another sexual assault just a few kilometres away near Wilson Avenue and Bathurst Street.

The suspect was allegedly following another victim who he later grabbed and sexually assaulted, according to police. A witness interrupted the assault, prompting the man to flee the area on foot.

A short time later, police were called about a third sexual assault just down the road near Lawrence Avenue West and Bathurst Street.

Officers say the suspect approached another victim from behind and allegedly sexually assaulted her. A witness driving by stopped their car and interrupted the assault. The suspect, once again, fled the scene on foot.

He is described as a male in his late 20s to early 30s and approximately five-foot-eight with a thin build, short curly hair and a short black beard.

He was last seen wearing a grey/black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes with a white sole and carrying a black backpack.

An investigation is ongoing.
