A new red panda has arrived at the Greater Vancouver Zoo.

Named “Paprika,” the new critter is being brought in as a partner for Arun, who has been at the zoo for several years.

The zoo is hopeful the two will make a good match and maybe make some baby red pandas.

“This important introduction is a part of our species survival plan for Red Pandas and will hopefully lead to future little Red Panda cubs! (we hope ??),” the zoo said on Facebook.

This is not Arun’s first partner. In 2021, the zoo brought in Sakura, another red panda. Sakura gave birth to two panda cubs in 2022.

You can see the red pandas at the Greater Vancouver Zoo anytime.
