New West PD looking for assault victim from Friday
Police in New Westminster say they are looking for the victim of an assault that took place Friday.
Shortly before 5 p.m., a witness called 911 to report an assault at Seventh Avenue and Fourth Street.
When officers got to the scene, the victim had left. However, they were able to arrest a suspect.
Police are calling on the victim to reach out.
“We want to support you and give you the opportunity to share your story, hold the suspect accountable for their actions,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver.
“If it’s more comfortable for you, we can arrange to meet at your home or a place of your choosing. Your account is vital to our investigation and can make a real difference in preventing similar incidents in the future.”
