New West police investigating video camera in men’s changeroom

Police in New Westminster say an investigation is underway after a video camera was found inside a men’s changeroom in a park last week.

Officers say they were called to Upper Hume Park on April 22 after the device was discovered under a changeroom bench.

The New WestPD says it went to the park, searched the changerooms, and seized the camera for processing.

“We understand how upsetting and disturbing this discovery is for park users,” said Sgt. Justine Thom.

“Our team is reviewing evidence and working to find who is responsible.”

Police are encouraging the person who installed the camera to turn themself in.
