New Westminster closing all civic facilities

New Westminster has announced it is closing all its civic facilities Wednesday because of the incoming snow.

This includes City Hall, the library, Anvil Centre, and many parks and recreation facilities.

The city says its fire halls and police stations will remain open, and all essential staff will be working.

The Q-to-Q Ferry service is expected to remain open, but passengers are asked to be cautious on docks and gangways.

Crews have been brining and pre-salting the city’s roads, but residents are advised to avoid any unnecessary travel tomorrow.

Homeowners are being reminded that if snow falls on your sidewalk, it is your job to clear it.
