North Vancouver police are currently investigating a vehicle incident involving a pedestrian being struck.

It occurred along Lynn Valley Road near Williams Avenue at the Highway 1 on-ramp.

The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) responded to the scene before 4 p.m. on Friday. One person was transported to the hospital.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to the hospital in stable condition,” said BCEHS Spokesperson Bowen Osoko.

The North Vancouver RCMP confirms that the pedestrian is a 16-year-old girl who is not from North Vancouver.

Police add that the incident involved a white Ford Transit van travelling southbound.

The driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Police say they are investigating the incident and do not believe impairment was a factor.

“Our officers are working closely with partner agencies, including the Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service (ICARS), to establish the circumstances of this collision,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer at the North Vancouver RCMP.

Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311.
