The Mission RCMP says a pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle Saturday evening.

Police were called to the area on Lougheed Highway around 7 p.m. after a report of a man being hit in a single-vehicle crash.

The man died at the scene.

The BC RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in and is helping with the investigation.

Lougheed Highway was closed between Grand and Wardrop streets for several hours after the crash.

“The investigation is in progress to determine the exact cause of the incident,” the RCMP said.

“Officers have ruled out impairment with the driver.”
