Person injured after stabbing in Agassiz Friday

One person was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a reported stabbing at a home in Agassiz Friday.

Emergency crews were called to the residence, located on Sthitsem Road in the community’s Seabird Island area, shortly before 8 p.m.

They found and arrested the suspect — a youth — at a nearby home. He was released to a guardian with conditions and a future court date.

Police say the victim has been discharged from the hospital.

Initial information suggests the suspect and victim are known to each other.
