Police incident shuts down street in New Westminster
Columbia Street is closed in both directions Friday morning due to a police incident in New Westminster.
The New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) says it closed the road between 4th Street and McBride Boulevard around 6 a.m.
Details are limited, but police say the investigation is ongoing, and commuters should consider alternate routes.
Images from the scene show police have barricaded an area and set up a tent below the SkyBridge.
Drivers can detour to Royal Avenue or Front Street to avoid the closures.
