Police investigating fatal collision in Chilliwack

The Chilliwack RCMP says it is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision in the intersection of Yale Road and Banford Road on Boxing Day.

Police say a 27-year-old man was the only occupant inside the vehicle when he lost control and hit a power pole shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, but speed may have contributed.

The area was closed for several hours after the crash but has since reopened.
