The White Rock RCMP says it is investigating after a fatal hit and run Tuesday.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers were called to the area of Cliff Avenue near Finlay Street.

“Upon police arrival, a bystander was administering CPR; however, despite lifesaving efforts, the person was declared deceased,” Mounties said.

“Based on initial observations, it was believed that the deceased had been struck by a vehicle.”

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) is now involved in the investigation.

“Investigators identified a suspect vehicle, which has since been located and seized by police,” police said.

Police say they are actively working to identify the driver who was involved.

Anyone with information or dash camera footage is asked to contact White Rock RCMP at 778-545-4800.
