Police are asking the public for dashcam footage after a hit-and-run incident in Maple Ridge last month.

In a release Wednesday, Ridge Meadows RCMP says it happened on Sunday, Sept. 29, around 7:30 p.m. in the area of 272 St. and Lougheed Highway.

Mounties got reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and an unidentified vehicle. When they arrived on scene they saw the motorcycle driver had sustained “non-life-altering injuries.”

The vehicle that hit the motorcycle did not stay on the scene or exchange any information with the injured driver.

Police say according to witnesses it is believed that the unidentified vehicle is a blue 2007 Hyundai Elantra that likely has “visible front-end damage.” They say it was last seen heading east on Lougheed Highway towards Mission.

“Police are still seeking witnesses, dash camera footage and/or surveillance video from the area,” Mounties said.

RCMP is asking anyone with information to contact the Ridge Meadows RCMP directly at 604-463-6251 and refer to File # 2024 – 19961.

They say if you were a witness at the scene and have been affected in any way you can call the Ridge Meadows RCMP Victim Services program at 604-467-7650.
