The man fell into Lake Ontario and the officer went in the water as part of the rescue, Toronto police said.
The incident, which police say appeared to be accidental, happened near Queen’s Quay West and Stadium Road just after 8 p.m. on Monday.
Police are asking the public to use caution around docks, piers, and seawalls and to call 911 right away if someone falls in.
