The Abbotsford Police Department says it responded to a report of shots fired in the outskirts of the city early Sunday morning.

Officers say they went to a property on Harris Road near Bates Road shortly after 6 a.m.

“The initial investigation has determined that a property owner arrived to find a man on his property,” AbbyPD said in a news release.

“An interaction occurred between the owner of the property and a male suspect, resulting in the suspect discharging a firearm and fleeing on foot.”

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Police searched the area using police dogs and a helicopter but were unable to find the suspect.

He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a Quicksilver logo on the back, dark jeans, and a light-coloured ball cap.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call the AbbyPD at 604-859-5225.
