Police seek suspect in assault with weapon at luxury watch store in Yorkville
Toronto Police say a man who tried to sell a fake Rolex at a luxury watch store in Yorkville ended up assaulting the person who called him out for trying to peddle a bogus item.
Officers attended the store in the Yorkville Avenue and Bellair Street area at around 2:00 p.m. on January 21, 2025, after receiving calls for a person with a gun.
Investigators say the suspect entered the watch store and tried to sell the counterfeit Rolex.
Police say the victim refused, recognizing that the watch was inauthentic, and was then assaulted by the suspect who fled in a white Mercedes.
The suspect is described as 30 to 40 years old, between six-foot-two and six-foot-five with a medium to large build.
He was last seen wearing a yellow turban with a gold-coloured pin at the front, a black “Northface” winter jacket, a black face covering, light blue jeans, yellow and black shoes with white soles (possibly “Nike”), and black gloves.
The vehicle he fled in is described as a white 2017-2018 Mercedes CLS model sedan, with the “CLS” model identifier removed from the vehicle.
