The Port Moody Police Department says it is investigating after a deceased person was found in Burrard Inlet at Rocky Point Park Saturday.

First responders were called to the park’s boat launch for a report of a body floating in the water.

“The person was removed from the inlet and pronounced deceased on scene,” Const. Sam Zacharias said.

“At this point in time, police are working with BC Coroners’ Service to identify the deceased person and determine the cause of death.”

Zacharias says the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
