Multiple pro-Palestinian events took place around the Lower Mainland this weekend, despite the cold weather and rain.

On Saturday, hundreds of people rallied outside Surrey City Hall Plaza for an ‘All out for Palestine’ event organized by the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network’s Vancouver chapter.

The event was advertised on social media by Samidoun Vancouver as a rally to “End the genocide in Gaza” and “Self-determination for Palestine” asking for “Ceasefire now!”

There were many pro-Palestinian advocates present, with crowds of people in attendance.

A Bike Rally organized by Vanbike4Palestine was also held on Saturday in Vancouver. There were pit stops around Science World and the Burrard Street Bridge.

Bikers came out with Keffiyehs (Palestinian scarves), posters, and Palestinian flags in support of Gaza.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, an event organized by Free Palestine Tri-cities BC was scheduled outside Coquitlam City Hall, again calling for a permanent ceasefire amid the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip.

Several similar events have occurred over the last five months, since Hamas launched an attack against Israel in October. The war has seen thousands of people killed and displaced in recent months.
