The Burnaby RCMP says it is investigating an alleged assault that took place at a local business Wednesday.

Officers were called out after a report of the assault to a business on Kingsway near Imperial Street around 5:30 p.m.

The Leader Spirit spoke to a caller who said the assault happened at Dollarama.

Mounties say they received reports of a shoplifter who allegedly attacked and threatened an employee and then said her boyfriend would come to the store. The woman left, and a man came to the store shortly afterwards. Police say he became aggressive with everyone in the store. Both suspects left after police were called.

Police patrolled the area and did not find the two suspects. The RCMP says the investigation is ongoing as they work to identify the two suspects.
