Police in Richmond are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of exposing himself and following his victim through the Broadmoor neighbourhood earlier this month.

On Nov. 6, the Richmond RCMP responded to a report of an indecent act. The victim told Mounties that she was followed as she got off a bus at No. 3 Road and walked towards Maple Lane Elementary School.

Police say the suspect continued to follow her to Buttermere Drive, where he allegedly exposed his genitals to her.

“Fortunately, the victim was able to leave the area and reported the incident to police,” said Corp. Adriana O’Malley.

“Our front-line officers attended, but the man had already left.”

Mounties have released footage from a doorbell camera in the neighbourhood, hoping to help identify the suspect.

He is described as a 5’8″, fair-skinned man in his early 20s. In the video, the man can be seen wearing a black hooded jacked with the word ‘Essential’ printed on the back, black pants, and white shoes.

“Unfortunately, to date, we have not identified the suspect,” said O’Malley.

“Which is why we’re asking members of the public to view this video — or if you were in that area and you witnessed anything associated with this investigation, to please contact us.”
