Serious Abbotsford crash sends motorcyclist to hospital

A motorcyclist is in the hospital following a serious crash in Abbotsford Sunday afternoon.

The Abbotsford Police Department says the rider has potentially life-threatening injuries after his bike crashed with a vehicle at the intersection of Gladwin Road and Chilcotin Drive just after 5 p.m.

“Upon arrival, emergency responders located a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a grey Toyota Yaris, both with significant damage,” Sgt. Paul Walker said in a statement.

The driver of the car is also in the hospital, but with less serious injuries.

Police say that while the investigation is in the early stages, officers don’t believe impairment was a factor in the collision.
