The Delta Police Department is urging people to stay away from an area in the Sunbury neighbourhood after it received reports of shots fired earlier Monday.

Police say they received reports of the shooting along River Road near 92 Street just before 10:50 a.m.

“There are no injuries; however, a vehicle has been located with bullet holes,” the DPD said in a statement.

“There is a heavy police presence in the area currently, and we ask that the public remain out of the area while we investigate,” police added.

Investigators believe the suspect fled the area of the shooting. At the time of the incident, police say the male suspect was wearing all black clothing.

“Motivation for this incident is not known. A further update will be made once we have been able to determine more details,” the DPD said.
