The Surrey Police Service (SPS) warns the public to avoid the area around King George Boulevard and 107 Avenue due to an ongoing police incident.

The SPS says it is investigating reports of shots being fired on Monday shortly before 4 p.m.

“The suspect is contained by SPS officers and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT),” said Media Relations Officer Sgt. Lindsey Houghton in a statement.

Police have since confirmed to 1130 NewsRadio that shots were fired at a SPS station.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.

King George Boulevard is blocked in both directions.

Additionally, the SPS has confirmed that the bomb squad is also at the scene, investigating a suspicious bag that was left behind.

Officers are currently sweeping the scene.

More to come.
