The Vancouver Park Board says that the Seawall in Stanley Park has reopened after being closed for two weeks.

According to the board, the closure was necessary for the annual maintenance and slope stabilization work.

The work included power washing Siwash Rock and vegetation removal, debris removal, and inspections of netting and rock anchors.

The City of Vancouver explains that the work, which has been happening for almost two decades, is meant to prevent rockslides onto the path.

The closure was in effect between Third Beach and Prospect Point.
