Surrey apartment building fire displaces 8

A fire at a Surrey apartment building has left eight people without a place to sleep Wednesday night.
Assistant Deputy Chief Ben Dirksen with the Surrey Fire Service says the blaze broke out on the third floor of the three-storey building in the city’s Guildford neighbourhood.
Just after 6 p.m., Dirksen said the fire, which is located on 150 Street, was “substantially knocked out.”
No injuries were reported, and crews will be on scene for a couple hours Wednesday evening to remove smoke and cool hot spots.
