Surrey police make arrest in unprovoked stranger assaults

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it has made an arrest after a pair of unprovoked assaults that took place in Surrey last week.
Police were called to a business on 120th Street near 64th Avenue shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 9, on a report of an assault in progress.
They found two men had been assaulted — one physically and the other with a weapon. The suspect had left the area.
“SPS’s Serious Crime Team led the investigation and over the course of the past week detectives were able to identify and locate the alleged suspect,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said.
“He was arrested in Delta on Feb. 15, 2025, with the assistance of the Delta Police Department and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team.”
The suspect has been charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. The SPS says it isn’t releasing his identity as the investigation is ongoing.
At the time of the assault, one of the victims was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
