The Surrey RCMP says it has arrested and charged a suspect in a robbery investigation.

On Oct. 7, police responded to a report of a robbery at a jewelry store on King George Boulevard near 100th Avenue. The store’s glass displays had been smashed and, allegedly, jewelry worth $27,000 had been taken.

The RCMP’s Robbery Unit identified two additional theft files involving the same suspect and was able to identify the man using CCTV footage.

A month later on Nov. 7, Mounties executed a search warrant at a home on Shaughnessy Street in Coquitlam, where they seized evidence and recovered some of the stolen jewelry.

The next day, 21-year-old Myheart William appeared in court and was charged with nine offences, including robbery, disguise with intent, and breach of a release order.

William remains in custody until his next court appearance.
