The Ridge Meadows RCMP says charges have been laid against the suspect in a crime spree that stretched over three days in Maple Ridge and Langley last month.

Twenty-four-year-old Langley resident Cole Mercer has been charged with four counts of robbery, four counts of use of an imitation firearm, one count of theft, and one count of possession of stolen property, for a total of 10 charges laid.

Mounties say they received six reports of armed robbery — two in Langley and four in Maple Ridge — between Dec. 5 and 7, believed to have been committed by the same suspect. At the time, police said staff and customers were targeted in all cases, but no injuries were reported.

Mercer was arrested in Langley on Dec. 9.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 5.
