Suspect in custody after homicide in West Vancouver, police say
The West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD) says a suspect is in custody after a homicide on Friday morning.
Officers responded to a 911 call from an apartment near Esquimalt Avenue and 14th Street in the Ambleside district where they found a deceased person.
After an initial investigation, a suspect was arrested at the scene.
“We want to assure the public that there is no ongoing risk to their safety,” said WVPD spokesperson Sgt. Chris Bigland.
“At this time, the investigation is in the evidence-gathering phase and it is believed to be an isolated incident.”
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken control of the investigation.
