The Vancouver Police Department says a teen is facing charges while a 16-year-old boy recovers from stab wounds following a confrontation in the Dunbar neighbourhood Saturday evening.

Officers were called out to the area of West 16th Avenue and Wallace Street around 8 p.m. where they found the injured boy.

“The victim had been stabbed a number of times and was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

The suspect had left by the time police got there, but they later found him at his home and arrested him.

“Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other,” the VPD said.

The suspect was released to his parents and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 21.
