Teen injured after shooting in Delta

A 17-year-old is left with serious injuries after an incident that the Delta Police Department (DPD) believes was targeted.

Police responded to reports of a shooting at Fred Gingell Park in the area of English Bluff Road near Wesley Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday.

“Preliminary investigation indicates the youth, who is not from Delta, was part of a group of high school students from another Lower Mainland community,” the DPD said.

“The group had stopped at Fred Gingell Park as part of a party bus celebration.”

Police say a newer model silver or grey Toyota Camry was seen leaving the area after the incident.
