Third victim has died after East Vancouver stabbing
The Vancouver Police Department says that the third victim in an East Vancouver stabbing that occurred on September 5 has died.
“Jinfeng Guan, 50, died Thursday in hospital, where she had been receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the triple-stabbing,” said Sgt. Steve Addison, VPD media relations officer.
Police say that Guan was found injured in a residential building two blocks away from Joyce Street and Vanness Avenue.
The bodies of the two other deceased victims — who were also women — were located in another residential building on Vanness Avenue.
According to police, 54-year-old Viet Quy John Ly has been arrested in connection with the attacks.
He is currently being charged with two counts of second-degree murder by Crown counsel.
Police are not ruling out additional charges as the investigation continues.
