Toronto police arrest suspect in vehicle break-ins

Toronto police have charged a man who was allegedly breaking into vehicles and pulled out a weapon when he was confronted by a citizen.

Officers were called to the Grampian Crescent and Aviemore Drive area on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at around 3:35 a.m.

Investigators say the suspect was breaking into multiple vehicles in the area before he was confronted by a citizen.

That’s when police allege the suspect pulled out a weapon.

He then fled with an undisclosed amount of stolen property, police said.

Officers found the suspect nearby and he was placed under arrest. No injuries were reported.

Abdirshid Sheikh Mohammed, 55, of Toronto, is facing numerous charges including robbery with an offensive weapon, weapons dangerous, and carry concealed weapon.
