The Langley RCMP says two officers were taken to hospital as a precaution after a police-involved collision Thursday afternoon.

“Langley RCMP and CFSEU Uniform Gang Enforcement Team were assisting Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit with an ongoing investigation when police became involved in motor vehicle incidents with the suspect vehicle and an unrelated civilian vehicle,” Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said.

“A suspect is also receiving medical treatment for injuries unrelated to the motor vehicle incident. The driver of the civilian vehicle is apparently not injured.”

The incident occurred near the intersection of 200th Street and 36th Avenue, which was closed after the accident. As of 8 p.m. Thursday, the intersection remains closed.

Police say drivers should avoid the area while the collision is under investigation.
