Vancouver gas prices expected to continue decline through August
Experts say gas prices in the Vancouver area could — weather permitting — continue to trend downwards.
In the last week, the average price has fallen by 3.3 cents per litre in Vancouver, marking a steeper price drop than the national average, which fell 2.5 cents per litre.
Analysts at GasBuddy.com say that’s in contrast to the provincial average, which climbed slightly “due to regional supply pressures.”
A report Monday says demand is expected to drop as Labour Day approaches.
But the experts warn it could change with the wind.
“This is also when the Atlantic hurricane season typically ramps up, so any disruption to supply could quickly change the trajectory for fuel prices,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis.
GasBuddy says prices in Vancouver were down 4.4 cents per litre Sunday from the same date last year.
