Vancouver gas prices rise as August continues
Gas prices in August are higher than they were last month across Vancouver, experts say.
In the last week, the average price has risen by 3.3 cents per litre in the city, marking a price increase in contrast to the national average, which fell 0.4 cents per litre. As of Sunday the price stood at 165.71 cents per litre.
In Abbotsford, the average price dropped by 3.3 cents per litre, while it rose a staggering 6.7 cents per litre in Victoria. Province-wide the average price increased 1.1 cents per litre.
B.C. was not the only province to experience an increase, but overall, national averages remained steady.
“After two consecutive weeks of increases, Canada’s national average gasoline price was little changed versus last week, with declines in Manitoba and Saskatchewan offsetting increases in most other provinces,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said.
GasBuddy says prices in Vancouver were down 10.2 cents per litre Sunday from the same date last year.
