Vancouver police arrest one after Downtown Eastside stabbing

The Vancouver Police Department says it has made one arrest after a stabbing in the city’s Downtown Eastside on Tuesday.

The BC Emergency Health Services tells 1130 News Radio that it received a call about a police incident at Main Street and Cordova around 2 p.m.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to the hospital in critical condition,” according to Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites.

BC EHS responded with one ambulance and one paramedic specialist.

While the exact timing of the incident is not yet confirmed, Vancouver police are actively investigating the situation.

The suspect remains in custody.
