Vancouver police arrest suspect, charged with second-degree murder

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has arrested a 33-year-old suspected of killing a man in the city’s Downtown Eastside last month.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday evening near Main Street and Terminal Avenue and has been charged with second-degree murder.

He remains in custody until his trial starts.

According to police, the victim, 45-year-old Mark Andrew Roasa, was assaulted by a stranger near Gore Avenue and Powell Street around 3 a.m. on Nov. 28.

Police did not disclose when the victim died.

The incident was Vancouver’s 26th homicide in 2025.
