Vancouver police arrest suspect in knife-brandishing incident
Police in downtown Vancouver arrested a man suspected of brandishing a knife at a stranger Saturday morning.
According to the city’s police department, officers received a call before 10 a.m. about a suspect who was allegedly spray painting on West Hastings Street near Hamilton Street.
The suspect reportedly first sprayed paint and then brandished a knife at the victim.
The victim called 911 and directed the arriving officers to the suspect, whom they arrested.
Police did not disclose if the victim sustained any injuries from the altercation.
The police say that the suspect is a 50-year-old man, who has now been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief under $5,000.
The suspect has since been released on bail by the courts.
