Vancouver police investigating after triple stabbing in Yaletown
Three people are in hospital after a series of stabbings in Yaletown Friday morning.
The Vancouver Police Department says officers responded to reports of multiple people stabbed along the seawall near David Lam Park around 7:30 a.m.
Emergency responders found three victims who were all taken to hospital with minor stab wounds, which are considered non-life-threatening.
“Thankfully, they will be OK,” said Cst. Tania Visintin.
The suspect, who wasn’t known to the victims, ran from the area before police were called, she says.
“It was a random attack and it was unprovoked,” she said.
In addition to the three victims, a fourth person had also encountered the suspect but managed to get away without any injuries.
Mike Conway says he was walking along the seawall on his way to work when he was approached by a woman holding a knife.
“She just came at me and swiped at me, and I dodged out of the way and scurried off as fast as I could,” he said.
“She swung a knife, and I moved out of the way. Then I ran about 10 paces, and she went the other way.”

Victims described the suspect as a woman in her late 20s or early 30s, between 5’3″ and 5’7″ tall, with a slim build, and long, dark hair. She was wearing an oversized black leather jacket, tight dark pants, and either a leopard-print shirt or scarf.
Witnesses or anyone with relevant video footage are asked to call investigators at 604-717-7048.
