Vancouver Whitecaps eyeing purpose-built stadium at PNE

The Whitecaps Football Club confirmed it’s in talks with the City of Vancouver about building a stadium on the PNE fairgrounds.
In a statement to 1130 NewsRadio, the club’s ownership says it has always been clear on its goal of constructing a purpose-built stadium for the soccer team.
“We look forward to continuing our constructive engagement with the City and appreciate the City’s continued support for Vancouver’s thriving soccer community,” said Whitecaps FC.
The club says it knows the importance of a “suitable venue” to improving the fan experience and financial performance.
The Whitecaps team currently plays home games at BC Place.
